Mental Health

At Falcon Health Center, we provide comprehensive mental health support grounded in compassion, inclusivity and a whole-person approach. Our team offers a safe, non-judgmental environment where individuals of all ages can feel heard, supported and empowered.

Who We Serve

We provide mental health care for pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Additional services are available exclusively for BGSU students, faculty and staff.

Conditions We Commonly Treat

  • Anxiety disorders (generalized anxiety, panic disorder, PTSD, OCD)

  • Depression (major depressive disorder, seasonal affective disorder, post-partum depression)

  • Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)

  • Other psychiatric concerns (for BGSU students and staff only)

Available Services

Counseling Sessions – Open to All

We offer individual counseling for adults managing stress, anxiety, depression, grief, low self-esteem, and interpersonal challenges. Our approach is strength-based and personalized, helping each person build resilience and create meaningful goals.

Therapeutic methods may include:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Motivational Interviewing

Sessions focus on present-moment awareness and developing effective coping strategies for a better quality of life.

Psychiatric Evaluation – BGSU Students, Faculty & Staff Only

Dr. Benjamin Forrester provides psychiatric evaluations and medication management for BGSU-affiliated individuals. Services are designed to support students and employees navigating complex mental health concerns.

Telehealth Options

Telehealth visits are available for select services, offering added flexibility and convenience for patients.

MENTAL HEALTH STAFF

Katie Edgar, PAC, has experience in diagnosis and treating anxiety disorders. She is well-versed in medications that are approved for, and overall, more likely to improve anxiety, specific to presenting symptoms. She is educated in several types of psychotherapy, which would be most helpful for patients. She enjoys and is confident in educating and encouraging the use of coping skills. 

Sue Bischoff, MSW, LISW, works with BGSU students, faculty, staff and adult community members.  She utilizes a compassionate, client focused approach rooted in trauma awareness. Sue helps clients identify their goals, understand the challenges they’ve faced and find solutions to overcome those challenges together, with support from their network.
