Radiology Transporter Jayden H. Recognized with WOW Award for Going Above and Beyond

The WOW Patient Experience Initiative recognizes Wood County Hospital team members who demonstrate exceptional care and commitment to patients, visitors and colleagues. For his outstanding dedication and kindness, Jayden H., a Radiology Department Transporter, was selected as a WOW award recipient.

During WCH’s Employee Family Holiday Party in December 2024, Jayden went out of his way to support a patient’s family during a stressful situation. That evening, a mother arrived at the Emergency Department with her two-year-old son accompanied by her nine-year-old son. Noticing the mother’s distress, Jayden offered to take the older child to the hospital’s holiday event. With her permission, he guided the boy through an evening of games, prizes, face painting and a special visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus. The child was overjoyed by the experience, and Jayden even helped him pick out holiday treats and drinks to bring back for his family. The mother expressed deep appreciation for Jayden’s kindness, which made a difficult night a little easier.

Originally from Akron, Ohio, Jayden moved to Bowling Green in 2021 and has been part of the WCH team for nearly three years. He began his career in Dietary Services before transitioning to the Radiology Department in January 2024. With plans to attend Owens Community College to study Radiology, Jayden continues to demonstrate his passion for patient care and teamwork. Jayden values the close-knit community at WCH, which drew him back after briefly leaving in October 2024. “Being here, I’ve made so many connections. It turns coworkers and patients into family,” he shared. He believes in the power of gratitude and a simple smile to brighten someone’s day. Thank you, Jayden, for your compassion and for making a meaningful difference for patients and those around you at WCH!
